Take me away!

Are you a holiday person? J and I have very different requirements from holidays, which always makes things... interesting. He wants to stay home and relax, I am at home all the time, and so want to go away somewhere.

Usually we compromise. I put up with staying home and pottering round the house, and he indulges my need to get away and we have short breaks. Unfortunately, J has not taken much leave in the last 2-3 years. A week at home, and literally 2 days away has been about the extent of it. He has changed jobs twice in that time, first the move to Melbourne where we took his leave paid out to help with relocation costs, and then took it paid out because the former employer begged him to stay and the new employer begged him to start ASAP.

This is frustrating me!!!!! I want a holiday! A big one, a long one. Somewhere warm and relaxing. We have 4 days in Tassie booked at the end of November, but thats it. I think I am going to book us somewhere toward the end of summer. In fact, perhaps thats something I would prefer to do for my 30th. Maybe we'll skip Tassie and go to QLD instead.

Might look into it, the idea of finishing uni, turning 30 and having a holiday all in one go has me all a quiver!!!!

We're driving holiday kinda ppl I think - but I think it has a lot to do with us needing to do the kilometres in the car, LOL!! Loved the drive to and around Tas, loved the ferry too.

(ps. loved my girls weekend away at Melb too, 1 extra day would've been good!)

See now I am definitely a driving holiday person!!! J not so much again. I have a dream that one day when Finn is a bit older we will go on a driving holiday all around Australia. Imagine what he could learn from that! What we all could! J agrees this is something he would do so one day...

We are flying not boating, I have a thing about boats - plus we were able to get cheap flights so the 3 of us are flying there AND back for a grand sum of $30! Barg!

That's definitely a bargain!! Lucky!!

Definitely take Finn for a long drive around Aust - that's something you just can't 'teach' at a school. There's so much you can learn, and if you want your literacy, maths etc, plenty of opportunity to turn real life experiences into them.

Love driving holidays! Went with one with Lea too, after I drove to Perth in the first place from Canberra, lol!

A driving hol with lea would be hilarious!!!! Canberra - Perth, how long did that take?! Awesome! Where do you stop? motels? camp?

Wonder what age would be good for that trip with Finn. Too young and it wouldn't be the same effect I think.
